Day 1: BUCHAREST at the CROSSROAD between the ORIENT and OCCIDENT
Arrival at Bucharest airport in the afternoon. For transfer, meeting point on the right side of the exit gate. Transfer to your 4* hotel and check-in. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 2: THE BYZANTIUM AND ITS SPLENDOUR: BUCHAREST - CURTEA DE ARGES – SIBIU- SIBIEL
After breakfast, departure to Curtea de Arges, the former capital of Wallachia. Visit the Episcopal Church where the Romanian Kings are buried. Drive along the picturesque Olt Valley to Sibiu, one of the oldest cities in Transylvania – formerly Hermannstadt – founded by the Saxon colonists. Guided walking tour of the medieval town (the Main Square, the Evangelical Church, and the Liars’ Bridge etc.). Depart to Sibiel- the village which was awarded the prize “Pomme d’Or” by the Press Association FIJET. Visit the Museum of Icons. Accommodation and dinner in Sibiel.
Day 3: UNESCO HERITAGE, MEDIEVAL TREASURES: SIBIEL – SIGHISOARA – TARGU MURES – BISTRITA
Morning departure to Sighisoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. En route, visit the fortified Church at Biertan, one of the most beautiful buildings in Romania, in Gothic and Renaissance style. We arrive at Sighisoara and discover the medieval Citadel included in UNESCO World Heritage: the Clock Tower, the Church on the Hill, the roofed stairways etc. Lunch in Sighisoara. Continue to Targu Mures, walking tour through the elegant city centre, well known for its architecture: the Palace of Culture, the Orthodox Churches, and the TelekiBolyai Library. Drive on to Bistrita and one of the 7 medieval cities in Transylvania and the place where Jonathan Harker, Bram Stoker’s hero spent the night before arriving at Dracula’s Castle. Dinner and overnight stay in a 3*/4* centrally located hotel. After dinner, optional night walking tour.
Day 4: GOOD DAY, SWEET BUCOVINA! BISTRITA–CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC – MOLDOVITA – GURA HIMORULUI
Departure to Bucovina –the “upper land” with the unique painted monasteries, belonging to the UNESCO World Heritage. After crossing the land of Dracula, wonderfully depicted in Bram Stocker’s novel “Dracula”, we arrive at Campulung Moldovenesc and visit the Wooden Art Museum. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Moldovita Monastery – a symphony in purple red, a medieval art treasure. We continue with visit to Lucia CONDREA’s workshop, the famous creator of painted eggs, as well as the village of Vatra Moldovitei, with its traditional small houses, old steam train named “Mocanita” and unspoiled nature. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 5: MOLDAVIA and ITS SPLENDOUR GURA HUMORULUI – VORONET –LACU ROSU /MIERCUREA CIUC
We visit the jewels of Bucovina: Voronet Monastery represents a genuine touristic attraction, both for Romanian and foreign visitors. It is also called “the Sistine Chapel of the East”. We continue driving through the Moldavian villages, with their typical houses. We arrive at the Village of Tarpesti – the home of the delightful “Neculai Popa” Museum. Afterwards, we visit the monasteries Varatec and Agapia. Lunch will be served at a local guesthouse. In the afternoon, we cross the fabulous Bicaz Gorges on foot, if the weather is fine. Arrive at Lacu Rosu (the Red Lake) resort; dinner – taste the main typical course ‘gulas’. Dinner and overnight at a 3* hotel in Lacu Rosu/Miercurea Ciuc- Fenyo Hotel.
Day 6: MEDIEVAL BRASOV - the SAXON GEM of TRANSYLVANIA LACU ROSU – PREJMER – BRAN – BRASOV
Departure to Brasov, driving through the Eastern Carpathians. Stop-over at Prejmer for visit to the fortified church, also included in the UNESCO World Heritage. Lunch in a local restaurant. Drive on to Bran and visit to the famous medieval castle (the ‘Dracula’s’ Castle) built as a fortress for the citizens of Brasov in 1377, as a defence to the city. Arrival at Brasov, former Kronstadt, founded by the Saxon colonists, as the South gate of Transylvania. Walking tour through the old town centre, including the Black Church – the biggest Gothic church between Istanbul and Vienna. Overnight stay in Brasov at a 3* hotel. No dinner included on this day.
Day 7: THE ROYAL WAY BRASOV – SINAIA – BUCHAREST
In the morning, we cross the Carpathians towards Sinaia, one of the most beautiful mountain resorts, also called „The Pearl of the Carpathians”. Visit the fabulous Peles Castle, an exquisite piece of architecture and one of the most spectacular castles in Europe. Panoramic tour of Bucharest, the city of contrasts between old and modernity, with large boulevards and magnificent buildings (the Romanian Athenaeum, the Patriarchal Church; visit the House of Parliament, built between 1984 and 1989, the largest building in Europe and the second one in the world after the Pentagon). Check-in at a 4* hotel in Bucharest. Walking tour in the Old City centre. Farewell dinner in a lovely brassiere, keeping immortal the old spirit of Bucharest at the end of the century.
Day 8: BUCHAREST
After breakfast, time at leisure depending on your departure flight. Transfer to the airport for your return flight. End of our services.
Day 8: Tulcea - Accommodation in the area
Departure from Bucharest at 08:00. Arrival in Tulcea around 12:00. Lunch at Hotel Delta in Tulcea. You will be escorted by a guide who speaks both French and English to the Danube Delta Museum. Visit of the museum. Departure to Crisan/Sulina by boat. You will be checked in at a 3*/4* accommodation in the area. In the evening we will prepare for you a traditional fish meal. After the meal we will discuss what we have planned for you next.
Day 9: Crisan/Sulina - Accommodation in the area
After breakfast (8:30), we will depart for the south lakes of Sulina to enjoy the Danube Delta. The journey will be 3 hours and you will return to Sulina for lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the town, museum, the old churches and the cemetery famous for being the burial place for people of all religions and see the picturesque Sulina beach and seaside where the water is not salty. You will have a few hours at leisure. When we get back (after sunset), we will have a traditional dinner, based on fresh fish. The route is decided each day by the guide, depending on water levels of the Danube and the weather.
Day 10: Letea- Crisan/Sulina- Accommodation in the area
After breakfast (8:30), we will depart again on water (9:30). We will visit Letea Forest and Letea Village. We will travel to Letea Village by boat. The route will be going through the Golf of Musura to see K Island, the newest land in Romania and a paradise for birds. We will arrive at a point when we will travel to Letea Forest by car. We will see local attractions, walk in the fine sand then head back to the boat and to Crisan/Sulina. We will have lunch in a very beautiful local farm in Cardon where our hosts will cook us a great meal and visit the farm. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner. In the village of Letea, a beautiful village with many traditional houses made of wood, clay and thatched roofs, painted in traditional colours green, blue and white; we will leave the boat and take a safari car for the trip to Letea Forest, the northernmost subtropical forest in Europe. We see only an oak forest on salty sand, lianas, a subtropical flora that cannot be found elsewhere in Romania and the famous wild horses.
Letea Village is the best preserved village in terms of local architecture; here we meet (again) many houses with a traditional look, Lipovans or Hahols old houses, with thatched roofs, with clay walls, beautiful and cheerful.
Upon returning from the forest we walk a few steps through the village to see / photograph the traditional houses which still stand in this corner forgotten by the world, talk to people and eat fruit from local trees. This trip includes: The boat, sized according to the number of people in the group, safari car, guide, fuel for the boat and the car.
Day 11: Tulcea
Early or packed breakfast. Departure at 6:30- 07:00 to Tulcea, following the same route we took on day 1. This equals 4 trips in 4 days. We will reach Tulcea around 08 o’clock, where we will end our trip and say our goodbyes. Transfer to Bucharest for your return flight. An afternoon flight is mandatory.
Delta Danube trips: Our travelling speed is slow; we are experts in low/medium speed trips, destined for sightseeing of the Danube Delta, we will take pictures of fauna and flora and gaze at the beautiful sights. We will, in no way, transform your trip into a boat race.

- the travel through the Danube Delta will be done by boat used for tourism purposes and is constructed having in mind the highest standards. When you step on the boat you will be given a life vest.
- Necessary personal equipment: trousers, long sleeve shirts and blouses, sun hat not cap, jacket, sun glasses, preferably trekking shoes not flip flops or sandals, mosquito repellents, suntan lotions, rain coat and small luggage. (Please take this advice seriously and please note that this equipment should be adapted according to each season.
