Day 1, Saturday: BUCHAREST
Arrival at Bucharest Airport Henri Coanda. Pick-up the car at the airport. Free time for visits. Acoomodation at the hotel. Dinner.
Day 2, Sunday: BUCHAREST – CURTEA DE ARGES – SIBIU
Morning departure to Curtea de Arges, former capital of Wallachia. Visit the Episcopal Church where the Romanian Kings are buried. Drive along the picturesque Olt Valley to Sibiu, one of the oldest towns in Transylvania - formerly Hermannstadt - founded by the Saxon colonists. Walking tour of the medieval town: the Main Square, the Evangelical Church, the Liars' Bridge etc.
Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. After dinner optional night walking tour.
Day 3, Monday: SIBIU – ALBA IULIA – CLUJ NAPOCA - TARGU MURES
Morning departure to Alba Iulia, the city which was known as an eventful town, having an important role in the social and political life of Transylvania. Visit the city centre then deprture to Cluj Napoca, the fourth largest city in Romania. Drive on to Tragu Mures. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 4, Tuesday: TARGU MURES – REGHIN – BISTRITA – CAMPULUNG MOLDOVENESC – SUCEAVA
Drive to Bucovina, the land of the unique painted monasteries belonging to the UNESCO World Heritage. Arrive at Campulung Moldovenesc and visit the Wood Museum. In the afternoon visit the Moldovita and Sucevita monasteries with outside frescoes. Late afternoon departure to Suceava, former capital of Moldova. Dinner and overnight. After dinner optional night walking tour.
Day 5, Wednesday: SUCEAVA – RED LAKE – TARGU MURES
In the morning visit the Voronet Monastery "the Sistine Chapel of the Orient". Departure across the mountains to Targu Mures, through the spectacular Bicaz Gorges - the Red Lake. In the afternoon drive on to Targu Mures via Gheorghieni – Praid – Sovata - Targu Mures. Dinner and overnight in Targu Mures.
Day 6, Thursday: TARGU MURES – SIGHISOARA – SIBIU
Morning visit the city centre well known for its architecture: The Culture Palce (exterior), the Orthodox Churches. Drive on to Sighisoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler ("Dracula"). Visit the medieval citadel, Sighisoara (included in UNESCO heritage): the Clock Tower, the Church on the Hill, the House of Dracula, the roofed stairways etc. Late afternoon departure to Sibiu. Dinner and overnight in Sibiu.
Day 7, Fiday: SIBIU – FAGARAS – BRASOV - BUCHAREST
In the morning departure to Fagaras, historical city were the saxons built in the 13th century and impressive fortress. Drive on to Brasov, formerly Kronstadt, founded by the Saxon colonists. Walking tour through the old town centre, including the Black Church and the Council Square. Continue to Bran and visit the impresive castle built as a fortress - The "Dracula's" Castle (1377). Late afternoon departure to Bucharest. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8, Saturday: BUCHAREST
Breakfast. Visit the Parliament Palace (2nd largest building in the world after the Pentagon). Drop off the car at the airport. End of our services.
